There are two well know tourist locations just 12 km from the hotel village, Pizzo and Tropea. At Pizzo don’t forget to try the ice cream and visit the Church of Piedigrotta. Tropea has a breathtaking view over the Med, and the coastline of Capo Vaticano, only 25km away, is said to be one of the most beautiful in Italy.
Not to be missed is a boat trip round the Aeolian Islands: they leave every day and visit 2-3 of the islands (Stromboli-Vulcano-Lipari-Panarea).
If you want to see the Bronze Statues of Riace at the Archaeological Museum in Reggio Calabria (100 km), you can enjoy and admire the Costa Viola (Bagnara and Scilla).
Moving inland you can visit Serra San Bruno (50 km) where you can discover the beautiful, Calabrian woods and the Certosa monastery. You can buy local delicacies and handicrafts like nougat, cakes, and wicker wear here.

No, the pool is only open at set times when the lifeguard is there. It is closed during the afternoon siesta (until 4pm) and then at night.
At the moment the hotel doesn’t have computers for guest use, but we hope to have them in the near future. However guests can connect to the internet from their rooms using their own laptops and the telephone connection.

Yes, from 12 June to 11 September there is an entertainment team that takes care of organizing various activities, at set times during the day and evening. They range from muscle toning water aerobics, beach games, pre–lunch and dinner games, coffee time games, volleyball tournaments, dance evenings, cabaret evenings, etc.

Yes, there is a mini-club. The children are entertained for two hours in the morning and afternoon, and then in the evening, after dinner, it’s time for baby dance when everyone can join in.
For reasons of hygiene it is not possible to use the bathroom towels on the beach.
Guests can hire or buy beach towels at reception. Those with the rainbow service have their beach towels and bathrobes changed every day.
Until recently there was a diving centre with instructors on the hotel beach. This has now moved to another centre not far from the hotel. They do multi-level courses and hire all the necessary equipment.
Snorkelling here is fantastic. There is plenty to see and the water is completely limpid.
The stretch of sea in front of the hotel is unbelievably clear and clean. Because we are in a bay the water is warm, and the seabed is rich in sea life.
The beach is the pride of the Village Hotel Lido San Giuseppe, because apart from being exclusively for hotel guests and a few other customers use, it is very large and always exposed to the sun. The beach is very well equipped with beds, chairs, umbrellas, canoes, boats, beach volleyball, and outdoor showers.
The sand is coarse (like half a grain of rice) and is always clean (during the winter, it is cleaned naturally by the storms).
